Hello,

I'm planning to buy a Radeon 9600 Pro and how good is a Gigacube Radeon 9600 Pro if compared to the ATI one?

Thanks,
Timmy

Umm, I think that they are not very good...check out Coolsquirtle's thread on the same topic...right now its just a few spots below this one...

Oh, and check out the buyer's guide that is at the top of the list...it is one of the "Brands to Avoid"

Yes I've noticed the "Cards to Avoid" section but I just want to know what's wrong with the Gigacube one if compared to the ATI, and what is their difference?

Thanks,
Timmy

Gigacube often isnames their cards Pro Lite, Pro C3, etc and uses inferior memory. They also don't overclock as well, and don't have as good support. And in general there are alot of complaints out there as compared to some other cards.
However CoolS LOVES his!

So that means it eliminates my option to buy a Gigacube card and now I've decided to buy an ATI one. Thanks for advise.

Thanks,
Timmy

i saw in a review where they pull it to 480/380 or something and it was the max before it became unstable :D

Do you really want me to whip out the BBA reviews that beat my 535/365?

The main thing is Are you going to overclock? Is it worth enough of a diff. in price to justify potential issues?

The BBA cards are usually among the best out there for the R9600Pro(s). But one thing is that they are very spartan. Driver CD, Little Quick Start Manual, and the Card in an anti-static bag, and a bunch of cardboard, that's usually about it.

But I like mine, it's served me very well.

OH YA! how would you like a piece of my Ti4200? It'll eat your R9600pro for breakfast :p
