what is wrong please?

Ok, No one is answering me in Video Editing.. But i think this might be a video Card problem.

Basically.. i just bought a MiniDV camera. and the firewire cable and i used Premiere 6.0 and 6.5 to capture video.. but I have a LeadTek GeForce 4 Ti4200 Is this my Problem? I don't think that card is a problem because its captureing everything and turning it to an AVI... but now here's the annoying ass part. When i go to Convert to MPG and i play that file it makes I only Get AUDIO and No VIDEO?
Im new to premiere is there something im not selecting? please help

Does it show a black screen where you would expect to see the video?

Or is there only audio played through media player with no black screen?

Im getting the Windows media player opening up... and it's black background and audio comes through

here's the thing, i just recently got a hold of BoilSoft avi convert and that actually WORKED!!... why doesn't everything else convert this AVI that i have to work it's so annoying

perhaps you haven't got sertain codecs..

Well, if Premiere is letting him encode it, he must have the codec installed... at least, that's how it has worked for me...

But that's something to try in premiere. Try compressing to an AVI with a different codec (like Microsoft MPG 4) and see what happens...

you should be using divx to compress your videos. nothing else beats it, imho

see this is probably where im doing everything wrong... can someone take the time to go through some settings with me?

basically from where i start the new project and everything... cause i don't even know how to change codecs and all that stuff

i have firewire, canon zr60 and premiere 6.5 installed

ok i installed that nimo crap now alot of my stuff is messed up... i used to have FFDShow installed, now with nimo installed some of my movies look horrible and have a red/green line vertially on the left hand of windows media player and alot of my video's won't work

can someone walk me through what to do please?

also now when i play certain movies the player has the error and XP ask's if i should send them a message... and the app closes? oh man things got worse
