Backup problems

Ok. I have win 2000 and Ms Outlook express 5. All I want to know is how to back up my outlook express. I have 6 different users on this one computer each with their own identity. I tried the export thingy and I think it worked but hell if I know where it saved the files. A friend told me I ahve to do it to MS outlook first and then create a PST file and backup that PST file. I have NO idea what this means. Please help. I have no idea where to start.
