It performs somewhat like R9700 Pro in standard benchmarks. No benchmark with AA/AF enabled.

ahh boo hisss
no AA or AF?
We all know that a card of the calibre of a R9700pro HAS to run with some level of AA or AF enabled.
Otherwise its just an expensive waste :p
look harder spitfire!
hehehe

Volari spec says that it uses Supersampling AA and only upto 4x AF.

It may not be good at all when it will be used with AA/AF enabled

Personnaly, I don't think that FSAA is a BIG issue! I would buy one of this card if the price is good.

But, the price must be very good, because, if I can buy a FSAA enabled card for just few more box, I would not consider this card.

But, on the other hand, if this card is performing well for the price... I would consider it. I don't need FSAA, I know everything looks smoother, but, I never use it in games I run on my PC.

They were, had they been release a few months ago.

TOO late to the party TO matter IMO.

If they sell for the price of an R9600/FX5700 then maybe, but considering they use 2 VPUs, I don't see that happening.

As for AA/AF look at the post asking about that and the links I added, tell me if after seeing all those examples whether or not you wish for no penalty for AA/AF.

- You need a licence to buy a gun, but they'll sell anyone a stamp (or internet account) ! RED GREEN GA to SK

Also, do you have to connect two molex to the card?

I didn't expect a lot from XGI, and this confirms it. The best card can match today's top performer and there will be a product refresh in less than 6 months. That implies launch a new model also for XGI ... don't know ...

On the positive side, is not bad for a first attemp, hope they can learn from it and improve it quickly. Also, two GPU = very expensive solution. Looking for a midrange 1 GPU but powerfull graphic card could be the best option.

Time will tell ...

Still looking for a good online retailer in Spain :frown:

That and the fact that they should have had benchmarks available on the 13 Oct at IDF IPAC like their website said they would. Paper lauches suck arse too. I hated ATI for the longest time specifically for this reason. They found out paper launches sucked....now it's XGI's turn to find out the hard way as well.

meaby it overclocks like hell, so perhaps they could ramp up the Mhz in a "XT" version :D

That could be as well...imagine having to increase two VPU's for Ocing!

The should team up with Apple. They both brag about dual processing units and both suck (as far as we know for the XGI, at least) reletive to pricing (is there anyway that this dualie vpu will be as cheap as a 9700?).

RDRAM = (ENEMY)^2

Even worse, imagine one being a heck of an overclocker and the other being a POS. Hey I bumped up VPU A 15%, but VPU B I could only push 5 mhz before it crashed. I'd love to see what happens when not only the memory is running out of synch, but the VPUs as well.
