A little extra from ASUS for lmtd. edt. R9800XT.

Xbit posted this little 'gift pack' ASUS is offering for the R9800XT limited edition (2000 is that limited?);

Some Bling Bling for the people like CoolS who want a little more and are willing to pay for it (but why?). Still no word on the games bundled.

That's all you get?? A fancy case, 7-in-1 card reader and a CD wallet?!?! If it is anymore than 25 over the 'regular' XT, it is a RIPOFF.

RDRAM = (ENEMY)^2

Yeah, but then again, aren't ALL 'limited edition' items?

And I'm sure that CoolS will attest to the fact that even the nBox which LOOKS schweet, is likely a 'ripoff' for the average tweaker. These items are for people who's parents still buy them their computer parts (well my dad still sends me anti-static wipes for X-mas, but that doesn't count! :eek: ) and the same people who slapped down triple digits for limited edition 'Galaxies' box sets.

Main thing is that it's out there. If you WANT a card reader, and it comes with nice software and additional junk maybe it's worth and extra 30-50 dollars depending on what you're looking for. If my R9600Pro came in Black or RED instead of Green and came with a case sticker and some other things that said EVIL GOALIE on them, then I'd have paid a premium for it.

And no CoolS, I won't trade. No EVIL GOALIE packaging with your card! :tongue:

Hopefully the RV380 will have some nice packaging so I can see what I missed with my barebones BBA package. :cool:

What can I say, I'm spoiled, I want it all!

Rememebr that my R9600Pro came with a 10 page install manual, and an anti static bag, a warranty sheet (and a kick-ass box), and that's it. I expected at least a DVI-VGA converter (w/ I was able to get for free later from the Univ.), or an Svideo to Composite dongle/cable.

Next time I want games, mousepads (don't really need one I use rollerball), cables, dongles, adapters, rebates, USBs, LEDs, LCDs, VFDs, BVDs, you name it, throw it in there. Gimme a shirt that says "I just spent $600 on a graphics card, overlocked it to liquid, and all I have to show for it is this crummy shirt, and a few Bungholio marks!"

That's what I want with my R420/RV380 (or less likely NV40), some extra items. With the R9600P at least I got extra overhead overclockability. :cool:

Don't feel bad. If it helps that's all I got too when I bought my 9600Pro. But I guess that's part of the package when you buy them the week they come out.
