Switched to XP Pro from 2k Pro. help, dissapointed

i lost about 1500 3dmarks (3dmark2k1) and gmaes run alot crappier


2kpro was very zippy, i loved it. i have visual options turned off in XP pro


any general tips for when you have a fresh xp installation? any linnks to good sites?

i went from 98 to XP pro. I have to say, although it doesnt run everything as "zippy" as 98 does, XP is about as rock solid as it gets. and with 2k there were alot of problems with high end video cards and some games. I never even went near it but ive heard the horror stories floating around the office's IT department. about the only thing 2k is good for is workstations, IMHO :\

XP is worth the performance hit, if you ask me. maybe time for DX9 and new vid drivers?
