i recently got sent a file on msn, which i thought was safe, so i opened it.
it turned out to be a series of .pif shortcut to ms-dos program files. they
wont allow msn to work properly, and my computer is very slow. i tried to
delete them, but they just reappear as soon as i do. how can i get rid of
them?! they are ruining my pc!

Most if not all .pif extensions contain a virus of one type or other.
