I want to put together a system where I can output my video to my TV. Are there any TV technologies on teh market that could facilitate this process?

I've heard people mention that HDTV actually render computer graphics at comparable quality to a monitor.

If this is try what technologies do i need in a video card and TV to get hte best possable results?

Thx in advance

Almost every new video card out there has a TV out, usually via an S-vidio output. Radeon's have superior TV out quality, as a rule.

If HDTV out is what you want however, your choices become limited.

The Radeon 8500 would be the cheapest way to go. You have to buy a dongle adapter for HDTV though. Dongle is about 40 bucks.

Radeons 9500, 9700, and 9800 also support HDTV out, but once again, you have to buy the correct adapter. The 9500/9700/9800 adapter is different from the 8500 adapter.

I'm not sure if the 9600 series has an HDTV adapter available.

Radeon 9500 (hardmodded to PRO, o/c to 322/322)
AMD AthlonXP 2400+ (o/c to 2600+ with 143 fsb)
3dMark03: 4055
