Ok....
I have a 3.02 p iv on an asus mobo (800fsb) 512 ram and a Geforce 5600 vid card with 256mg and the thing runs Halo Pretty Crappy. I was reading that the Nvidias perform below ATI, however I've found in the past Nvidias to be more stable. So, now that I've shelled out $175 in the past 4 months on the 5600, and am not satisfied, Im wondering if I should just bite the bullet and get a $300 9800 pro (hopefully will go down when the XT's are more mainstream)...any thoughts on this would be greatly welcomed....maybe a cheaper board that will outperform the 5600 (bang for the buck)? Oh yea...i really fear what wil happen to my system when i try to play HL2...boo....Thanks in advance!

it would double and even triple your fps.

Wow...so that is probably my bottleneck..I don't even play Halo because it's a "slideshow" with my current setup...

An R9800 will definitely make it playable, but Halo runs poorly on PCs no matter what. You can barely get 60 fps with a 3.06 GHz/R9800 Pro.

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.
