Why is it that you can sign an unlimited amount of Norwegians in FM despite
the fact that the country isn't in the EU? Same with Icelandic and Swiss
players too (I think)?

Is it EU or EEC - I've never paid attention to the difference between
the two!

It's the EU. It used to be called the EEC.

EEC.. European Echonomic Community. In other words, stupid norwegians
not wanting to be members, but paying the "members fee" just to take
part in the trading. I`m a norwegian myself, and I NEVER understood why
we want to be outside the door when the decisions are made, and then
come back inside and accept whatever stupid rule the EU has come up
with. Ok, I want to have more money than everybody else ("norway"
thinking as a person). I should be happy, since I`m a norwegian, but I`m
a socialist (yes yes....) and I want to HELP others and share the wealth
(read; Oil). Is it THAT much of a catastrophy that every norwegian only
can afford two televison sets if a family in need can get food on the
table (although it`s in another country)?? I don`t think so. If a family
in Bosnia could get a roof over their head instead of me having two
computer, 4 tv`s, Playstation, Xbox etc., I would gladly give up half of
it...

Ok ok, I know...Pink`s gone mad again...but I did explain the EEC..

Why not sell 2 of those TVs, 1 of the PCs and 1 of the consoles, and
donate the money to a charitable organisation that helps people as above?

I did donate half a months salary to the salvation army though, so that
they could help the people with no home, no clothes,no food etc in my
own town, so I`m doing something. It\s just that donating money for
countries outside norway is plain stupid. If you donate £100 only 20%
get to the people needing it. The rest gets "lost" in administration
etc., and NO WAY I`ll finance people doing this kind of work for the profit.

Then why don't you find some non-profit charitable organisations to donate to?

Too many charities operate this way. It is simple economics.

If you are going to have donations from wide ranging sources you will
need to pay someone to collect the money, bank it, account for it,
distribute it and ideally not steal it.

Those people usually require wages. These wages have to come out of
the donations. With most service type organisations labour costs and
premises costs can eat into up to 80% of donations.

The higher the profile that an organisation has the higher the
likelihood that most of their donors will contribute regular sums that
cover the costs of those doing the work. That way each "extra" or new
donation will actually get through to the front line where it is
needed.

That in no way removes the fact that there are non-profit organisations out
there to donate to. Organisations that rely on volunteers, as opposed to
paying wages.

Charities are by definition not for profit organisations.

The field workers may be volunteer or vocational. The admin side are
very often salaried.

> Charities are by definition not for profit organisations.

That statement is really just pointless pedantry. I wouldn't define a
charity which eats up 80% of a donation in administration fees as not for
profit. There is a cancer charity in Belfast called The Friends of
Montgomery House, and their administration costs amount to slightly less
than 3% of their income. *That* is a non-profit charity.

And I'm not only talking about charities. I'm sure there are many church or
community groups in your area that are non-profit organisations. Groups
that will have virtually no administration fees, and will spend the money
doing some sort of good.

> The field workers may be volunteer or vocational. The admin side are very often salaried.

<sarcasm mode>Gee, that must be why they call them administration
fees.</sarcasm mode>

Now stop being a pedant, and go and wrap some Christmas presents.
