Ok, so a few days ago I got my sapphire 9800 nonpro. Great card. did some OCing and testing, its run great so far, definately has more headroom for me to explore as soon as i have time to OC more.
just one problem -- its not performing at all as well as i expected.
currently i'm at 380/326, and my 3dmark2k3 is only 13300 or so.. which is poor, and not much faster than i got with my ti4200!

i also ran a halo timedemo, with the following options:
"halo.exe" -timedemo -use20 -nosound -vidmode 1024,768,75
and the results of that are available at <A HREF="http://kiwiserv.kicks-ass.net/timedemo.txt" target="_new">http://kiwiserv.kicks-ass.net/timedemo.txt</A>
my relevant system specs are:
-sapphire radeon 9800 non pro @ 380/326
-P4 northwood 1.8A @ 2.4ghz (133 fsb)
-asus P4P800 i865PE w/ bios 1012
-2x 256mb cheap infineon ddr333, running at 133mhz 2-3-3-7 in dual channel
-winXP pro w/SP1
-catalyst 3.9 + rage3d tweak 3.9
-the latest intel inf update (chipset driver installer), downloaded today (dont remember version number, it was long  )
-DX 9.0b
FSAA and AF and such are disabled in drivers. I ran 3dmark with the mipmap/texture preferences set to high performance (although i think 3dmark actually ignores those and provides a single set of textures no matter what), and the halo bench with those set to quality (because halo image quality turns to [-peep-] if i set them to performance, so it wouldnt be a very useful bench result)
if anybody has any suggestions for what's dragging me down, i'd be very interested to hear. thanks in advance
