Hi all. My father in law's rig was suffering. Poor performance in general and the video was choppy when playing mpegs. Formatted c: and reinstalled Win98. Performance is back where it should be-mpegs still blow. The status bar at the bottom of media player will actually skip a second or two at a time making the rendered file look like cartoons with 1/3 of the drawings taken out.

His hardware:
AXP 2000+
Epox 8RDA+
Radeon 9200 (unsure which model)

The drivers appear to be ok as the games I tested worked fine. DirectX??? Help? ;)

PC 2700 @ 333DDR FSB Dual-Channel ---TBred running synchronous w/10 multiplier.

2x256

Simpletech Ram-cheap, but no problems other than movie playback. I'm thinking maybe it is a codec issue-that would explain why a game works and not an mpeg or avi.

I get that once in a while, but it's file specific and has to do with corrupted downloads. I'm not sure what videos you're trying to view, but try dloading an mpeg and see if it's file specific.

If not the only thing I can do is recommend that you commit suicide. Sorry.

Me: are you saying I can't provide?
Me: cause I know I can provide.
Me: oh and I can provide money too;)
Rachel:): why do we need money when we can just stay in our room and have sex all day?

It's not file specific=saved files to a zip disk and they run correctly on another machine.

Suicide--that's pretty harsh. It's not even my computer!
