My system just reported the following system error: "system error
&H80070583(-2147023485). Class does not exist".
When I Googled the above error message, I was directed to the support site
of a company called Visual Make.com, where it was indicated to be Bug Fix 399
on Version 3.0.63 Build 91. I don't believe that I have any Visual Make
software on my system, so I am completely mystified by this. I also don't
know how to apply the Bug Fix to my machine. Can anyone help me out here?

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW (see: Description of Windows XP and Windows Server
2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe): http://support.microsoft.com/defau [...] -us;310747 )
or
You might have some app running on startup that is damaged

Mark Thanks for your response. I have been trying to login to the workgroups
section of Microsoft support for over 2 weeks and I kept getting the message
that the workgroups were unavailable. Today, I re-logged in with .Net
Passport and I was able to see the posts.
I ran scannow. When it finished, there was no dialog box indicating what it
found. It just finished and went to bed. Is that the way that it typically
works? Thanks for turning me on to this program. I was unaware of it prior to
your post. Hopefully this will take care of my problem.
