Hi,

I know a few of you people have done this and now I want to slipstream SP1 into my XP pro installation disk, I have tried a few times with the guide I have and it didn't work so well at all.

Can anyone provide a few links on guides that have been proven to actually work on how to do this please?

Yes, you can by creating an unattended text (winnt.sif) to automate the installation. Look in the cab file called deploy.cab (it should be in the folder Support\Tools in your XP CD) for more informations. There is one reference file called ref.chm shows how to create an unattended text.
Note, the file Winnt.sif and any file associated with it must be placed in folder\I386 on your CD (or you can put them in floppy disk, and inserting it when start the installation).
 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

There is a draw back on putting Winnt.sif in CD is it can only be used for unattended installation, nothing else.

That is very interesting, I have a copy of a Dell W2kPro disk that does not require a cd-key, then again it has no boot files either.lol

Thanks for the info, I have found a few pages to read up on it.
