geforce or radeon

I am going to be building a computer for my dad but he doesn't want to do any overclocking. I was wondering if the Radeon 9600p, Radeon 9800 non-pro or the GeforceFX 5600 ultra would be a better card? I want to make sure he has DX9 compatability. Any suggestions? he plays some 3d games but mostly office apps. if the 5600 is a better choice for him which make should i get?

Thanks for anyone able to help me

Remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

More about : geforce radeon

Either ATI would be better than the FX.

The R9600Pro is likely the best compromise of price and game play. But if the R9800non-pro and the R9600Pro are equal in price then definitely go with the R9800non-pro, just be sure it's a non-pro and not an SE, and if it were an SE make dang sure it's a 256bit (not 256mb, but 256bit) memory version.

But that's just my two frames worth.

definitely the 9600p or 9800np, 5600 has had alot of probs and bad reviews.

i agree with ape if you can get a 9800np for 9600p price go ahead, be wary of the se though
