I have been playing Halo PC and would like to improve my gaming experience.

My current rig:
AthlonXP 1700+
Via KT333 chipset
512MB of PC2700
GeForce3 Ti200

My question is this: which do you think would make a greater increase in performance, video card upgrade or CPU/MB/Memory? I can't do all at once.
Here's what I had in mind:
GF FX5700 (~$200)
-or-
Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton 333Mhz)
512 mb PC3200
Motherboard (~$325)

What do you think is the weakest link in my current system for playing Halo PC? If I upgrade just the video card will it make a substantial difference?

Thanks

The graphics card would be my first upgrade. The 1700+ is a great overclocking CPU. I have heard pretty good things about the 5700 Ultra from a buddy who upgraded from a Radeon 8500.

Definatly graphics card.

I would buy Radeon 9600 PRO 128 MB instead of FX5700 Ultra. It's nearly equal fast and costs much less

FX 5700Ultra. Most people here will tell u R9600pro but u see, the only cards they've ever seen here are

Ti4200
Radeon 9500Pro
Radeon 9600pro
Radeon 9700/9800 series

everything else they never seen before except in benchmarks which are BSs anyways. SO they think everything else except those are crap
