Overclocking a FX5900

Can anyone help with a general bit of data about the real need to overclock a good video card and what would the effects be? I have my P4 2.8 800FSB at 10% overclocking now without a notice of a glitch. It is running at just over 3 GHZ now.
What I need is the real info on how to do it and any good sites for instructions.Thanks to all!
