Upgrade Ati 9700 pro to 9800 xt

Just wondering how much performance gains i will see upgrading my Ati 9700 pro 128 mb to a Ati 9800 xt 256 mb.
Will it be worth the money or should i wait until spring and the next crop of high-end cards.

Tried playing Halo at 1600 x 1200 with everything turned up and it ran bad. Is it just the game itself.

I`m running a Athlon xp 2800+ with 2 DDR 512 mb pc 2700 ram

Check THG Radeon 9800XT review. They've included R9700 PRO for comparison.

IMO, upgrade from R9700 PRO to R9800 XT is waste of money

Waste of money.

Halo runs horribly on PCs. Even 3+ GHz P4 + 1 GB DDR + R9800 = playable at 1024x768. 1600x1200 isn't possible for halo on a PC with any hardware you can get now.

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.
