Geforce 5200FX or keep my Radeon 7200

Hello..
This might be a stupid question but I am not sure. I currently have a Radeon 7200(AGP4x) running on a AGP8x mb. I was just given a GeForce 5200FX as a gift. Doing some quick research, I see the 5200 is a 128mb, DX9, AGP8x card so is it safe to assume that I will see a big improvement in games if I use this card?

Thanks
Andrew

The problem is I got the 5200Fx for free and I am trying to see if it would be worth the effort for me to replace my old 7200 with it?

If it's free then yes, replace your 7200 with it, it's the worst DirectX 9 card out there but it's still much better than the Radeon 7200.

------------------
Radeon 9500 (hardmodded to PRO, o/c to 322/322)
AMD AthlonXP 2400+ (o/c to 2600+ with 143 fsb)
3dMark03: 4055

Ok..Lets say I have a Geforce 2pro , should I replace that with the 5200FX?

Again if the swap is free?

Here is a list of cards from worst to best to make this simple for you:

18. Nvidia TnT2 = Rage 128
17. Geforce 256 = Geforce2 MX200 = Radeon SDR, LE, 7000
16. Radeon DDR, Radeon 7200 = Geforce2MX 400
15. Geforce2 GTS
14. Radeon 7500 = Geforce4 MX
13. Geforce FX 5200 = Radeon 9200SE
12. Geforce3, Geforce3 Ti200 = GeforceFX 5200 = Radeon 9000, Radeon 9200
11. Geforce3 Ti500, GeforceFX 5200 ULTRA = Radeon 8500, Radeon 9100, Radeon 9000 PRO
10 Geforce FX 5600 = Radeon 9600SE
9. Geforce4 Ti4200 = Radeon 9500, Radeon 9600
8. Geforce4 Ti 4400, 4800SE, Geforce FX 5600 ULTRA r1
7. Geforce4 Ti 4600, Geforce4 Ti 4800, Geforce FX 5600 ULTRA r2 = Radeon 9800SE

2. Geforce FX 5900 ULTRA, 5950 ULTRA = Radeon 9800 PRO
1. Radeon 9800 XT

Although I'm sure some might disagree. :)

------------------
Radeon 9500 (hardmodded to PRO, o/c to 322/322)

Radeon 9000, 9200 are slower than GeForce3.

GeForce3 Ti500 is faster than Radeon 8500/8500LE/9100/9000 PRO

Radeon 9600SE should be much worse than FX5600. I don't think it's faster than GeForce3 or GeForce3 Ti500, because of it's 64 bit memory.

Ti4200 is better than Radeon 9500, Radeon 9600.

Most of the Radeon 9800SE come 128 bit memory and much slower than Radeon 9600 PRO

My corrected list:-

Radeon 9000
GeForce3 Ti200 = Radeon 9200, Radeon 9000 PRO
GeForce3 = Radeon 8500, Radeon Radeon 8500LE/9100 = Radeon 9600SE
GeForce3 Ti500 = FX5600, Radeon 9500, Radeon 9600, Radeon 9800SE
GeForce4 Ti4200 = FX5600 Ultra R1
GeForce4 Ti4400/4800SE, Ti4600/Ti4800 = Radeon 9600 PRO
GeForce FX 5700 = Radeon 9500 PRO, Radeon 9600 XT

I agree with rest of your list.

sell the 5200Fx, 7200, and Geforce 2pro, work a few extra hours and buy yourself a real card........

LOL, just kidding, that's what I would do :)
In all seriosness, yes, if the 5200 is free, put it in. It is the newest card and you'll see slightly better improvments, but not by a whole lot. Oh, and by the way, the fx 5200 can't really do dx9. well, it could, but at a whole 1 frame per second, it doesn't really earn the title of "dx9"
