Hi,

You have a hardware problem...
Memory ?
Is your hardware in the HCL ?

I think reformat will not help.

Dear David,
After waiting that 15 to 20 minutes for your computer to boot up, you
can go here for some light reading.
'SP2 Fixes' (http://tinyurl.com/6r2du)
Or you could just bang your head on the keyboard while waiting for your
computer to boot. Any chance that your hardware worked before SP2?
Just a guess.
Best,
