Hardware Chat w/ ATI's Harware GURUs @ Rage3D

Rage 3D hosted a Hardware chat today with the Hadware (and a few software guys) from ATI.

Question 2 is from me (I think, they are asked by the MODs based on our submissions early in the week.) and so is part of Question 1. I think also part of the Real-time temp monitoring question was from my first question. They asked for questions earlier in the week, and I submitted a few focusing mainly on PCI-EX, but also an R9600XT question (about memory of course). You can see the qeustions in <A HREF="http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=33727854" target="_new">this thread</A>.

Forbiden questions.

I didn't get the answer I wanted about PCI-EX, but it is somewhat of an answer. Also didn't adress the AGP/PCI-EX question, but that may be nV sensitive.

I found it funny that they talked about a flashing a FireGL to Radeon, I wonder if they recommend the opposite?

The only thing I wish I had added to my list of questions, is why ATI allows people like Gigacube and Powecolor to come up with Cards that say PRO but do not meet ATI's PRO cards.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Or why PowerColor has a 'lite pro' 9800 that is identical to other peoples 9800Pro?

Well remember that is my @work login/nick, I have 2 of them over @ Rage. That's the one I use when I'm at work, like now.

It was just easier that way.

As for PC, yeah they are all over the map. Just like their Bravo editions are above spec. Interestingly enough there was this article (which I see you read in the other thread);

Seriously if PC would just keep their cards consistant and imrpove their support, then they'd actually be better respected by more people in the community and likely usurp ASUS and Hercules as the top OEM-partner in the hearts and minds of performance freaks.... like us!
