Can't through software, I think. If you really care, use one of those laser thermometers that THG used on the CPU videos.

Damn Rambus.

I know some of the higer end cards do have temp monitoring...I think you need a registry key to unlock the feature in the Nvidia Control panel...might be available over at guru3d.com..

You could always try Rivatuner. If it's got temp monitoring, usually Rivatuner will expose it.

Yeah, I know ATi's XTs and nV's 5950/5700 (not sure about the 5700, actually) have it, but not so sure about the 5900.

I think I'm going to throw up.

Actually nV has had it for much longer than ATI (something ATI users have been asking for ever since [still only availible on ATI through Rivatuner]). I think it's a feature of nV's driver basic package too from what I've read (I guess it may depend on the mfr if it didn't come with this card above).

It's been around since may 14th when Digit-Life did this review of the FX5900U;

If you check towards the bottom of this FX5900U review they have a pic.

Perhaps it is just the Ultras, but I don't know.

Open up your machine while playing an intense 3d game. Without turning off the pc, pull the fan right off the card. Touch your tongue to the chip to find out the temp.

AMD 2500+, 1gb DDR333, Radeon 9800 Pro, Audigy 2. Yummy...

Cool!

Isn't that WS' way to check temps? Or did he use another part of his anatomy? :eek:

I guess it's good for Core Temps too, very interesting. The versatility of the human anatomy. :cool:
