Can I load a vm on a single core

I need to run a comparison of overhead loading of 2hypervisors but all I have is a single core laptop. Can I load a vm on my single core and run my experiment and then load another vim and run again?

yes you can. Each virtual processor assigned to a virtual machine runs as a hardware process
