Hi guys. I have win98se installed on my HD and now I want to install XP. I would just do a clean install, but I've lost the cd's to some of my programs, so I'd like to keep my actual install.
(1)So I'm wondering if I can make a partition on the same HD and install XP under NTFS, can I do that? I mean, have a single HD with FAT32 and NTFS? If so, could you guide or point me to an article regarding this process? I've never made a partition before, and I'm unsure as to what software should I use for this.
(2)And do you think I should use a third-party app for the multi-boot process, or should I just stick with the one XP has? I d/loaded Osl2000 and bootitng.

Thanks in advance.

1) Yes. If your HD is already partitioned into at least 2 partitions (eg. C: and D:), just boot your WinXP CD and choose the partition other than W98's (usually is D: since W98 mostly is installed in Primary partition C:\) to install XP. If not, you need Partition Magic or similar software to make another partition for installing WinXP.
2) You don't need a 3rd party software for dual-boot XP and Win98.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.
