Problem in resident evil 5

my ingles is not very good...so i go try to make my question...
i have the game resident evil5, but for some reason i cant play the game whit pad control...joystik...control....whaterver they call to this...
i play the game normal only whit the key bord....but until now i never play games like this...and i wonder why i cant play resident evil whitout the keybord..
what i most to do? why i dont have all the options in the pad like i have in keybord?
