Hi,
I bought a Scud Race twin for home use a few weeks ago. This machine
has always been on location untill now. The right player did not work
and there was no sound at all. I managed to get everything working
except for the force feedback on both players. During start up the
screen shows "drive board error" and the 7 segment display on the drive
control board shows error 02 and sometimes errors 01 and 03 also. What
can I do about this? Sometimes during game play the steering wheel
briefly activates and then dies again, like it is trying to work. Error
code 02 means rom error according to the manual, where is this rom chip
located?
I' ve asked lots of people around the globe and no one seems to have
schematics for Sega model 3 circuit boards. It is like Sega keeps them
hidden, why is this?

You can start by doing a few simple things.
Check all of your socket chips.
I remove boards and place them on a static free towel then on a hard
surface. press down on all of the socket chips. clean up all of ther
edge connectors.
Also check your 5 volts at the board and check all of your external
connection points . Look for cold solder joints.
