Need help with g.card config

Hi! I just bought a Radeon 9800se. The problem is that i dont seem to use it like i should. When i ran 3dmark 2001 i got only 8300 points with softmod on. 7300 with catalyst 3.10.(orginal) I have formatted my hd and reinstalled windows. My computer has: P4 1.7ghz, 512mb ddr ram, 9800se@pro, 19" hansol monitor. What should i do? What is wrong? Shouldnt i get at least over 10k 3dmarks? Please help me! Something that is strange too, is that on 3dmark 2003 i get 5300points which i think is quite good, isnt it? Please tell me what to do. Best regards, Thom

Most 9800se cards use a 128-bit memory bus, instead of 256-bit. Soft modding such cards will result in you having a 9500 Pro with newer features, rather than a 9800 (which is basically a 9700 Pro with newer features). Those scores seem a bit below average for a 9500 and 9500 Pro, check to see if you've turned off AA and AF.

I have a 256bits 9800se. Its a AIW-card. Now you can tell me whats wrong.

so its my 1.7 that is dragging it down? damn i think im going to steal my dads motherboard and cpu. he has a 2.4ghz
