MN-700 internet issue

Hi,
I got the MN-700 router, and set it up exactly as the
instructions indicated. It recognized the base station but
can't find my internet connection. I noticed that the
modem light at the top of the router does not light up,
and the activity light on my cable modem does not show any
activity. I have checked all of the cables and reset both
the cable modem and the router. I also know that my
connection is working properly. Could it be that
the "modem in" port is defective since it will not
recognize the modem, or is there another possible
solution? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
