Sometimes a file will become corrupted, and nothing will work. Had the
same Filez disagreement last week. I couldn't even delete it through the
PC, so I had to copy all legitimate files onto the PC, reformat the
card, copy them back.

The file that wouldn't go away was a zero kb file with a strange name.
The application on the PC called "Killbox" was unable to delete that
file, too.

FileProg.prc (Google to find) is another free file manager.
Sometimes when I can't get one to do something the other will.

Filez will do it, if you have a version that supports removable media.

Try seeing if you can delete the file after a chkdsk. Failing that,
change to the directory containing the offensive file and fire up a
command prompt. Do a "del ." and answer "y", which will cause all
files in the current directory to be deleted, even ones with fouled-up
names. Just make sure nothing else is in the directory that you want
to keep.

Thanks, that's definitely worth remembering. When the problem occurs, it
drives me batty (battier).
