Hi Tricia,

D/load and run the fix provided by Kelly Theriot:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm (scroll down to line 235,
left-hand column -->Restore Help and Support Service)

No you're not overlooking something too obvious. I think the "cannot find
helpctr.exe" problem may stem from the fact that your system directory is
C:\Windows and not C:\WINNT
The reg file that I recommended you d/load and run has the path for
helpctr.exe set to C:\WINNT
Right-click on that d/loaded .reg file and select Open with>Notepad. When it
opens in a Notepad window, the first few lines should look like this:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App
Paths\HELPCTR.EXE]
@="C:\\WINNT\\PCHealth\\HelpCtr\\Binaries\\HelpCtr.exe"

Change the WINNT to WINDOWS
Go to File>Save and then File>Exit

Now double-click on the .reg file to run it again.

Hello, I cant seem to get the file to open with notepad, everytime I select
it. It either says run or save. Is there another way to the reg. file that I
downloade from Kellys site?

Bummer :-(

The only other thing I can think of trying (besides a reinstall of Windows)
is to try reinstalling Help and Support. You'll need to have your Windows XP
install CD ready, as you will probably be prompted to insert it during the
install process.

Go to Start>Run and key in:
%windir%\inf\
Click on OK or hit ENTER
T
This should open a Windows Explorer window with the C:\Windows\inf folder
open. Scroll to locate the file named pchealth.inf Right-click on the
pchealth.inf file and select Install.
