Windows 7 drivers for mic

Hello,
i am unable to use my mic which was embedded with my dell inspiron 1525 laptop. ii used it earlier for gmail video chat when i had windows vista.i checked device status n it says device working properly. please help me. do i need any additional drivers for this in windows 7?

It sounds like you either need an updated driver, or the web cam is not compatible with Windows 7. This should help you locate the driver (if one is available) - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly
