I'm running a ATI 9700 pro on a MSI KT4 Ultra mobo with a 2400 amd,512 2700 ddr and the audigy card with all the bells and whistles installed on XP prof. I'm also haveing problems at times booting, booting in circles, slow boots. With everything insalled and all drivers,Bios updatedit will work fine for a while. Then one day it will just start booting funny. Is there problems with the ATI 9700 pro.

Nope, not those kinds of problems. Misboots and reboots are normally caused by the power supply not providing adequate output on the 12v or 3.3v line.

No blue sreens. It is running in a antec case with the antec 350w power. The only thing I worry about with the power is the ATI draws power from the AGP slot and has to be plugged in to the power supply too.I will list below what I'm running do you think the 350w power is enough? The antec power has always been a good source for me. By the way I,m running a 2800 barton not the 2400. Bruce

Msi kt4 ultra
2800 Barton
512 kingston 2700 ddr
ATI 9700 pro
Audigy 2 Plat
Sony DVD burner
Lite on 52x dvd rom
120 gig max drive
1.44 floppy
USR 56K modem
Board has built in lan
2800

I can't afford Antec's True Power series, but I've had MANY of their cheaper units. All were junk. Every last one.

I have a really clean system. I clean out the filters and the whole case on a regular basis.I built this system 6 months ago.I have real clean intalls from scratch and use all the latest drivers when I load.I have built many systems with the same setup except using nvedia video cards and augidy 1 sound cards.I use the same case and have two entrance fans and two exhaust fans. The fans on the cards and mobo are also running. I heard that Smart Power is based on the True Power. None of my Antecs had such fancy names.

Make sure that the sound card is not installed in PCI slot 1 or 5. Mine is in slot 3. If the sound card and the graphics are on the same IR line, they WILL CONFLICT and cause the problem you are describing. Windows usually assigns the AGP slot to IR 11.

MSI KT3 Ultra ARU mobo, Athlon XP 2000 CPU set at 1731MHz, Windows98SE & W2K Pro, 1024MB of DDR333, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card and a 431 watt Enermac Whisper pwr.

Sound card is in slot 4, Ikeep 1 and 5 open. I have a noisey chipset fan when I first fire up. I will order a new fan even though I don't believe this is the problem. Bruce
