Greetings Folks

I am pondering the purchase of an Asus A7N8X and AMD Atholon 2800+, along with some DDR.

With that cost I would like to keep my video card, an Asus V7700 (Value version I believe). The mb is agp 8x and the v7700 is agp 4x but am concerned that the voltage from the mb will support the vid card.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Thomas

What is the GPU un the V7700?

My frined upgraded is CPU/MB/MEM and he had to bought another video card, because is TNT2 Ultra was not working on the A7N8X (I think it as an Asus V77??, but I'm not 100% sure).

I bought the A7N8X-X mobo around 6 months ago and bought a athelon 2500+ for it but I didn't buy a new video card. I am still using my Creative Labs Geforce 2 GTS/Pro with no problems.

I dug out the manual and took digital pics of the card.

It's a GeForce2 GTS set on it.

My primary concern is the voltage compatibility.

Voltage won't be a problem since, as I said, I have the Asus A7N8X-X which is the same board as the plain A7N8X and I am using a Geforce2 GTS and it works great. In fact the power supply I'm using is a cheap powersupply that came with the case I bought for a total of $34 Canadian. The Guy at the store even told me that I shouldn't expect it to work because my powersupply isn't good enough according to him. But here I am almost 6 months later and no problems with power supply and I even have 2 Harddrives in my computer along with a soundcard, cd-rom, floppy drive, network card and the video card.
