It cant be done legally. Otherwise how could Apple keep selling its over priced product? It can be done illegally its called running a Hackintosh.

Yes you can do it. I ran it on my acer laptop but I don't recommend running updates after you get it running.

Please note that there is a difference between something being illegal and it being a breach of contract. There is a possibility, depending upon what country you are in, that using OS X on non-Apple hardware is a breach of contract. But in no country is it illegal per se.
