Here's <A HREF="http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display/20040107114451.html" target="_new">X-bit Labs'</A> take on the situation. But who knows, it could just be an exaggerated rumor.

I'm sure that'll be fine. Abit has a really good RMA service. Let's just hope that VIA isn't in bed with Abit. But I doubt that's the case; just a little conspiracy theory.

I know Abit has good RMA service, just curious what will happen if Abit has no more NF2 board in stock and someone sent in a unrepairable board.

What theyed likly do if they did run out of stock is to replace the product with what they feel is an acceptable equivelant based on what they do have in stock. This usually means a free upgrade. However you have to make a decent case with them by pointing out that you are aware that your board has such an such capabilities and you won't settle for anything less so as to ensure that they don't try to slip one past the percieved 'ignorant' customer who dosnt know what his product is capable of there for wouldn't know if he got screwed with a lesser product.
