nVidia showcases their PCI-EX wares at CES

A little more insight into the next-gen PCI-EX future from X-bit Labs;

So no bridge for the ATI cards anymore. That could be an interesting competitive dissadvanatge/advantage.

Still not really sure. I don't think we'll know for sure if it's THAT much of a deal until the cards are put side by side.

One would think it' an inelegant solution if you have a choice, but does the cost of a seperate VPU design warrant it so early in the design game. The Volumes can't be much more than those of the Volaris at first. If they don't take off immediately then the cost functions will likely be fudged. However you eventually have to move in that direction anyways. nV is just putting it off until later, in the hopes that a unified design saves money and (I would guess) gives them better driver and optimization uniformity. But of course this is all just a guess at this point.

Would sure be nice to know someone on the inside. :evil:
