Details: Dual boot. Xp SP2 - Media center 2005, Kudoz motherboard with
integrated Ac97 sound. Xp with Microsoft Ac97 drivers, Media with the
latest Via Vinyl Drivers. Usb webcam with microphone works faultlessly.
Problem: Can not use ordinary microphone (3.5m/m jack.) Recently changed to
Adsl. Tried to use Windows Messenger and Skype. No luck using the ordinary
mike. (Usb works). No yellow anywhere in System, ALL Sound and Audio
Devices.say "This device is working properly" True it also says in legacy
drivers BUT no drivers are present. Sound recorder, just a straght line.
(again, Usb works.) I have Googled but without any luck. I'am wandering,
maybe the Motherboard is faulty. (2 slighly different Os-es and two
different sound drivers.) Any ideas, sugesstion, would be gratefully
accepted. FjV
