Ever since I installed service pack 2 on my pc I have been receiving this
error in a pop up balloon. This happens at random intervals.

"USB Device NOT Recognized

One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and
Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click
this message."

I also have received the blue screen of death twice with the following info:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

*** STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X00000000,0X00000002,0X00000001,0XF83A32B5)

*** USBPORT.SYS - Address F83A32B5 base at F839E000, DateStamp 41107d62

The Device manager shows no errors in the USB controllers area and I have
deleated them and they were found and reinstalled upon reboot.

The only device I have connected is a HP all in one printer-FAX-copier and
it is working with no problems. I have disconnected the printer and rebooted
and the error still pops up.

Any thoughts or Ideas would be appreciated.

Thank You but I have been there and done that before the install of service
pack 2. I have also contacted HP and preformed their suggestions and checked
the register etc. as they directed me to do. None of their suggestions
applied, as there were none of the registry entries that may cause the error
and none of the suspect files on my PC.
