Hi there,

can anyone tell me whether it's possible to install XP over an already
installled version? Is there any tip how to do this? I have so many
programmes on the PC now, and wouldn't like to loose them all.

I've done this with Windows 98 in the past, but don't know anything about
XP.

What you basically wish to do is called a "Repair Installation"
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm
Go to R and scroll down till you find "repair"
good luck

You can do the repair or you can put in the CD and do an upgrade over the
exosting version. This will only work if your CD is the same version as what
you are running eg: service pack one or two
