I just recieved my ASUS N53SM-ES72 laptop and let me first say hat I love it. Very fast and everything is running great. My problem comes when I looked in "My Computer" and see that I have two HDD spaces set up. One has 279 GB and the other has 394GB. This thing was supposed to have a 750 GB HDD, which the space between the two would give me roughly, but why is there two seperate partitions right out of the box?

they might partition it so you can have your os on a separate partition and your data on the other one. if you want a single partition reinstall windows
also read the manual that came with your laptop it might clear some things out

I personally would leave it as is. Separate partitions is good cause you can keep your data on one partition and OS and programs on the other partition. There are ways to merge the partitions if you don't mind taking a few mins to create a bootable linux disk and merge the partitions. NEVER do it with the OS running live.
