I have search the many discussion groups here for an answer to my problem I
am having with Internet Explorer and not getting the "Use HTTP 1.1" option to
stick. I see several people posting the same problem last year, but I do not
see any answers to this problem. So I am sorry for the repeat posting
subject again. As a recap: I can go into the IE Advance settings and click
it on "Use HTTP 1.1"and exit the Internet Options. Go right back in to check
it and that option is not checked again.

Does anyone know where I can turn for some help if not here?

Using Windows XP Pro SP2, IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158

Do you have any malware OR ISP software running such as that from SBC or
Verizon?

I have no ISP software loaded. Just WINXP Pro networked to a router than out
to a DSL modem Internet. I did sweep the system with SpyBot, Ad-Aware,
SysInternals RootkitRevealer and it came out all clean. This problem is
driving me crazy!

Well, I just spent quite a while scouring Google and the Microsoft site.
Maybe I'm missing something or not using the correct keywords but this seems
to be a singular problem in that I'm not able to find anyone else with the
same problem or a repair for it and I surely can't generate the problem here
to try to find the fix. Are you running any sort of security software when
this happens? Has it been happening long? How about if you go in and set it
in safe mode? Does it stay in there? (You don't have to actually go online
to check it so safe mode without networking would be safer.) If it stays in
there where you probably don't have all sorts of software loaded then it
might be a running application that's changing it. I am not sure but it
would seem to me that if your router or modem didn't support HTTP 1.1 (which
I have a hard time imagining they don't but you never know) then that too
could perhaps be what's resetting it. How about with an alternate browser,
does this happen with one of the Mozilla products as well?

Finally, if you don't get help here, there's a dedicated IE newsgroup on the
Microsoft servers. There you'll find a greater concentration of people who
are much better than I am at diagnosing these sort of errors.
