8500le 128 OCing using heatsinks and new fan

Im strap for cash (bought 2.6c, 512ddr, SB audigy 2ZS, p4p800, Antech lanboy....for my 500mhz..bigg a$$ jump wen it comes to games) i have a R8500le 128mb, i can oc it using rage3d...but i wanna oc it maximum possible....is there a way i can add heatsinks somewere or make moddifications..get a new fan to at least bring the core up to 400mhz? i wanna max my card out completey. I heard somewere dat R8500le is better then 9000 and 9200.

Honestly by the time you buy ramsinks and a new chipset cooler, you are on your way to a new card. Oc'ed it is still going to be the major bottleneck in your gaming. I'd save the money for now, OC a little with your stock cooling, and save for a new card. Selling your 8500 should bring in a few bucks, and the amount you saved on the card mods, will put your further on your way to a 9600 Pro. IMO

Ok i'll save up my money....any good recomendations for cards? im thinks bout R8600Xt Ultimate...i enjoy silence....anyone else?

If you like silence, then OC'in isn't really the route you want to go, unless you aren't on a budget and do water cooling.

To my knowledge, the Saphire 9600XT Ultimate is the quickest silent card. I could be wrong. But it doesn't sound like you would want to spend more than that anyway if there is a faster card.

Well, it came clocked at 250/275 default, but after I modded it I ran it at 300/315...nothing fabulous really, but it was a great card(my dad owns it now)
The cooler came off a Pentium 3, and the ramsinks came from Comp USA.

Thermal Epoxy, the built by ATi 8500/LE's had no push-pin holes.
