If you're on a budget, don't bother with AGP 8x.

AGP 8x is a marketing feature and doen't do very much at all. AGP 8x gives absolutely no perceptible performance increase over AGP 4x, especially in the sub-$200 price point.

What you want is a Geforce4 Ti4200 64mb. An awesome card for the price, and still a solid performer. You should be able to find one online for about $75.

I wish you don't expect to play today's game at high frame rate. You will get good performance in DX7/8 titles. But, you will not go anywhere for that price in DX9 games.

TI4200 is a good choice for that price. If you prefer ATI, 8500 cards are good too in DX7/8. I have one, and it barely give me fun in Halo. I don't expect anything good for TI 4200 or Radeon 8500 with games that are due in the next couple of months.

The Ti4200 is strong enough to just get by in some upcoming titles, but the 8500 isn't.

If you're into gaming, anything less than a Ti4200 is probably going to dissapoint you.

Try looking for a Ti4200 if you cant find any try a GeforecFX 5600 its well under a $100.

Shuttle XPC SN45G
Athlon XP 3200+
nForce2 Ultra 400
Corsair 512mb ddr400
Radeon 9600 Pro
WD 160GB HDD
Toshiba DVD-RW

FX5600 is a waste of maney in comparison to the GF4ti which is the best bet for low $ and high performance IMO.

Ti4200 is should be your card of choice. If you have to spend few extra money, then spend.

If you can't buy Ti4200, then buy Radeon 9100 (250/250 clocked)

AGP8x does nothing to improve the performance of today's best cards, let alone the cheap ones.
