Ok, here is the deal, I am trying to load up diskkeeper on my system, BUT!
It can not start the service. Why not? What is this dependant on that it was not dependant on in the past....ever.

Is this another reg problem?

Maybe this page will help:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You should also make sure that the service is not just enabled, but enabled to work with your hardware profile, under the properties\Logon tab. And since Diskeeper can only run on an admin account, if you've recently added a user, be sure that it's you that are logged in, and not the other person.

If for some reason you need to uninstall Diskeeper, and install it again on the admin account, you might need a program like RegScrubXP to remove the orphaned Registry entries, and it's also possible that you'll need to manually remove the Executive Software folder under Program Files after rebooting.

I did add a new user, but she is an admin as well. and i am logged on as me , but i can't even install it because it can't start the service. its looking for something " which i can't figure out what." it simply times out . then once i cancel it uninstall's itself. the service start up is where i am stuck at. that link? i was already at, it doesn't mention this problem. any other idea's?

you didn't post too many details, but maybe you can dig something up over at the diskkeeper KB site

Maybe you can fire up the event viewer and see if it is returning an error message.

That is all the detail. When you load up a program. it runs thruthe install.. when it gets to "activating service" it stops. then windows times itself out.

get disk keeper and when it gets to activating service and you run thru.. that area is where i stop and there is nothing coming up it just simply ... stops.

it is looking for a dependency . but i cannot figure out for the life of me. what it is, it is looking for. when it never had a dependency to look for before. it has to be something in the service's "im assuming."

the question is has anyone had that problem with another program, that needs to be loaded in the service's and suddenly jammed with no reason.

and doesnt need a dependency.
