I am having the same issue. However, I can provide more information specific to my situation.
The webcam does not appear to be detected by device manager. After speaking with Acer's support they said that the only way to reinstall the driver for this is by restoring the system to the factory default install. They were unable to provide any details as to what hardware the camera was other than the resolution; no manufacturer, model, or brand name for the camera component. After attempting to reinstall the software package for the camera it also states that a webcam is not present.
If there is anymore information that I can provide or utilities that can be used to gain some form of useful information, please let me know and I will do what I can to get the information out there so that, hopefully, others with the same issue can find it a bit easier.
