I have a new laptop. OS is XPHE, 100G HD. Have not connected to internet.
Partitioned HD into several FAT 32 and NTFS partitions none smaller than 5G
using Partition Magic. All logical disks show "healthy" Attempting to
install a DOS based application I get an error as follows "could not
initialize installation--File size expected 8,091,692 Size returned
4,947,968". Have tried the installation in both NTFS and FAT32 partitions
all of which are empty, with same result and numbers. The application, when
installed will require only 14 to 15 MB. This is a problem new to me and am
wondering what I can do.

Try installing the DOS application using DosBox
Http://dosbox.sourceforge.net
