Am running XP Pro, did the srchasst.inf lil trick, didn't work, search still
greyed out.

No trojans,viruses,adware,spyware.

Search - Missing from the Start Menu

Restore/Place Search on the Start Menu (Line 166)

Note: If have more than 11 items listed on the right side in blue, both Run
and Search will be dropped off. If this is the case, remove some items by
right clicking the Start button/Properties/Customize/Advanced
