Yeah, I just installed, and of course THAT was the first thing I checked.

I ran DroneZ as the replacement OGL benchmark, and it had a strange crash yesterday while I was watching TV it had caused a major error suggesting I run chkdsk, and windows was frozen with the benchmark looping in the background. Freakin' annoying. Definitely wiping the HD this weekend. If you can think of any other OGL Benchies that are readily availible on the net (I like other to be able to get them for free too) lemme know.

I'm thinking of adding CodeCreatures also.

I'm going to bench 3.7 to 4.2 with DroneZ (or another OGL benchie to bring that part up to date, and bench 3.9 - 4.2 for everything else. I'm probably going to move the 'OLD' benchies into another reply in the thread and link it on the very front of the First post, simply to clean things up a bit, but also keep all the old info, otherwise it gets freakin' cluttered IMO.

Still haven't had time for games yet.

BTW, LOVE your addition to the siggy, I posted that here a while back and got NO Response.
Hat to say it, but I think "All your Base Belong To Us." is something for the older gaming crowd to remember.

I still love that reference though.

I don't think there is magic behind drivers... What is great, is to see that ATI still optimize (and/or tweak) performance of older cards.

I am not a big gamer, so I don't expect much difference in games I play. And a 3-4% increase in Halo for me, it's about 1 or 2 FPS. Wow!!!!

You think thats bad, I couldnt play <b>any</b> games that used the quake3 engine because the screen was completely dark....it happens for some people who run multi-monitor(which I do) I posted my problems on the Rage thread and the B3D thread, and there were alot of other people who had the same issue. Dont <b>you</b> run multi-monitor?
I went back to the 3.10's because they worked pretty good.

I don't run multi-monitor on the gaming rig, and the editing rig doesn't play games, so that may be why I haven't noticed anything. I am still thinking of adding another monitor to the gaming rig, but at this stage there's no need. I was very tempted though when I saw a recent super drop in the price of Samsung LCDs at FutureShop/Best Buy. I have dragged in my old LCD and hooked it up when I was doing a little bit of trouble shooting a while back, but now, I don't get much benifit from it, so I'll wait until surrounview is an option, because 2 lcds beside my CRT would be sChWeEet!

Yeah, I've given up on vulpine, perhaps it needs another patch (I have the patched and unpatched version), but that sucks as their site doesn't even really offer the benchmark anymore, so I think I'm out of luck.

I'm going to check and see if the unpatched version runs before wiping my HD.

Strange Thing is Shadermark DIDN'T work, and now it DOWS work, but it was giving me a windows install error before so I don't think it's driver related.

And who needs Quake3 based games when you have UT2K4, just played the demo this morning when I woke up, NICE! Is there any online or is that no going to happen for a while, and the bots are all we get. At first, I just did the quick play, and the connection/server message went unnoticed, so I was kicking but, and thinking this is too easy, so I said, are we live or not. No answer, only after I finished a few games did I realize it was bots. Oh well I can still lan it I guess. How do you think it would play on the PII 366 with the NeoMagic256?

Yes, good Idea, I didn't know that the new one was available yet, I saw the review/preview from DriverHeaven and was very impressed.

I'm currently going over what to download in preparation. I'll hceck for GL Excess before turning in for the evening and watching 'The TAO of STEVE'. Great Flick!
