I just got a new 9600 ati to replace my 32 meg TNT and damn i can hardly tell the difference, should i return it or be happy wuth this dud bit of hardware? This really reinforces what all have been saying , Ati really suck poo....

1. What is the flavor of your 9600? (SE, NON-PRO, PRO or XT)?
2. Describe your PC? (PC, RAM, MOTHERBOARD...)
3. Get rid of all the viruses and spyware that are running on your PC.
4. Get the latest drivers from ATI website.
5. Have you done some benchmarks/timedemos?

He just got done posting how NVidia's new drivers make FX Cards blow out ATI even in DX 9 and AA/AF. Then he claims to go out and get a Radeon. Yet he claimed that NVidia has a GOOD PERFORMING CARD in every price range from the FX5200 up to the FX5950. And that ATI Sux. Oh brother. Who is this troll?

I see your problem, however it must be noted that you CPU is probadly underpowered, try upgrading your SX 33 to say a DX 33 with the onboard math co-processor, your TNT 2 was most probably a PCI not an AGP, did you not notice that the use of a small hammer and blue tack during the install not seem, well, unusual. Also, if you deleted some of the porn off your drive thats been causing you to go (nVidia) blind off your 40 meg hard drive you may also have some room for the "drivers" these are small yet essential bits of "software" that the device needs to be recognised by windows 3.11 as video card and not a small toaster oven such as is with most nvidia cards.

You made a mistake... It's a PCI card he have, it's probably a VESA Local Bus.

And, of course, I would buy a 12 inch VGA monitor, to get 256 colors in 640x480. This would be a kick ass upgrade! Ho boy! I can't imagine how impressed is friends will be.

I would like to have the budget to afford all this stuff. Someday, I will!
