I'm getting a ATI 9800pro. I'm running a GForce 4200ti. Is there anything I should do before installing the drivers for the 9800?

Thanks,

Chris

Use this program to get rid of any Nvidia Driver files that linger after an un-instal. Follow the read me file.

You may also want to get Detonator RIP, which will also remove any unwanted files. Also, look for Nasty File Remover. Alot of people have problems, but when I switched from my GF3 Ti200 to a R9600XT, I used all three programs and didn't have any problems whatsoever, and thats a month ago now. and it only takes a couple minutes more to do the job right;

And don't forget to connect the power connecter to the card.

POST is way overrated, the black screen and beeps should be enough for most people.

I own a Radeon 9800 Pro - make sure you uninstall any Nvidia drivers from your system. In my case, I did a reinstall of my OS just to be sure.
